Spring Inspiration – Sunset Hues Decor Pantone Colors in Interior Design
Even before the Cerulean Blue scene in The Devil Wears Prada, we all knew that color is not only culturally important in our society but also has commercial significance. Every year the Pantone Color Institute explores the world, the internet, and our trends to uncover the underlying mood through a specific color. After a turbulent 2015 that has rallied into 2016 with technology and media bombarding our daily lives, Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue are the colors of sunrise and sunset and bring a reassuring calmness and tranquility at home.
The Sunset Collection Brings Serenity Home
Lisa Fremont collaborated as the Art Director on our Pantone-inspired Sunset Home Collection. We created a look that highlights Harrington’s goals to promote longevity and vitality in our homes using Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue as accent colors. We set off the Sanchez custom tufted sofa in a linen blend fabric with pillows from the Pantone color palette with our Simplicity rug as a neutral. Lisa also added a new tufted ottoman and set of the tranquil look with vintage accessories: lamps, tables, and decor

Wellness and balance in bed
The DeHaro custom tufted bedframe brings a feeling of comfort and stability to our bedroom set. The tufted headboard is traditional and provides structure as a contrast to our chaotic exterior surroundings. We introduced pink as an accent from our Pantone palette and added silver-gold details to the set. In contradiction, we placed a lilac Simplicity rug to offset with antique pieces: gilt side chairs, an etagere, and a vintage Wedgewood lamp with a contemporary black shade.
Vintage lighting is always a heritage treasure and brings longevity to our homes. The beauty of heritage lamps never fades but the lampshades often need to be replaced. On our Wedgewood porcelain blue lamp, we updated the look with a black paper shade from New Brunswick Lamp Shades but the plaster Italian gold lamp maintains its original shade and glory.
Simplicity at home
Our contemporary Simplicity Rug collection is a handmade wool and viscose blend on a canvas back. We have pictured the lilac and red version in 5′ x 7’9″ but this style is also available in blue, carbon and chocolate, and other sizes.
